Last year we brought you the story of Linzie Pugh and her magnificent fundraising event in Eardisley. This year she’s back with another brilliant event, raising even more money for Hereford County Hospital’s Born Sleeping Appeal.

In 2011 Linzie’s daughter Lola was stillborn at 39 weeks. With the fantastic support of local businesses and families in 2018 Linzie’s tireless fundraising in Lola’s memory totalled an amazing £11,000.

Linzie told us why she continues to raise money for the Appeal,
“The staff have done such an amazing job with making it [the bereavement unit] as homely and private as they can. However, they do not have a bereavement midwife, a vital resource to make to deliver what would be gold standard care for these families.

“The aim is to have a bereavement midwife available 24/7 to newly bereaved families. This support is hugely important in trying to help mothers and fathers after finding out about their loss and delivering their precious baby, sadly I know first hand what it’s like… and it’s time to change.”

This year’s event is a Hallowe’en fundraiser with live music, race night, food and fun – priced at a very reasonable £15.
