Environment Agency officers spent the majority of today clearing a huge tree from the River Wye in Hereford.

The tree had been swept downstream late last week when the Wye rose by 3.5 metres in just a day and found itself lodged up against the Old Bridge in Hereford.

However, as is often the case with the Wye, levels have fallen as quickly as they rose and the tree was able to be removed without any major issues.
