Emergency Services responded to reports of a collision between a car and a mobility scooter on the A49 at Much Birch, near to the Axe and Cleaver pub at 8.33pm last night.

Two ambulances, doctors, together with the Midlands Air Ambulance crew from Strensham in a rapid response car quickly arrived on the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered a man, from the mobility scooter, in cardiac arrest. Bystanders were already performing CPR, which ambulance staff took over. Advanced life support was then administered and continued en-route to Hereford Hospital.

Unfortunately, shortly after arriving at the hospital it became clear nothing could be done to save the man, and he was confirmed deceased.

The car driver, a woman in her 40s, was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.
