Bristol City have recalled defender Harvey Smith with immediate effect. The 20-year-old joined The Bulls on loan at the start of the season and saw his loan spell at the club extended in January.

Smith has made 21 appearances for Hereford this season and has captained the side on several occasions. However, the centre-back has seen his first-team opportunities with The Bulls limited since sustaining a head-injury whilst playing for Bristol City U23s at the end of December.

“Harvey has been great to have around, and has done a fine job for us,” said Head Coach, Marc Richards. “We’ll be sad to see him go, but good performances from Josh Gowling and Jordan Cullinane-Liburd recently have meant that he’s not been as involved as he was before Christmas.”

“I am sure he has got a bright future ahead of him in the game, and I’d like to thank him for his excellent attitude and efforts whilst with us.”
