Scott Russell has been appointed the new Hereford FC Womens Manager with Ben Archer assisting. Both are currently Head Coaches with the Academy and have Academy experience with EFL clubs.

The team will train twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Scott and Ben combining their existing roles in the Academy with their new positions with the Women’s team.

Scott told the Hereford FC website “I’m really looking forward to start the season now, it has been a few months of planning to get to this point and I just want to get going.

“After a lot of interest in the coaching positions, for me Ben was a standout candidate to work alongside me. A forward-thinking coach who, like myself, has experience at Academy football prior to joining the Hereford FC Academy. I know the women will enjoy the training sessions and professionalism he brings.

“I personally will strive to help develop individuals and create a real tight bond within the squad. I want us to be hard to beat and grow as the season progresses. I’m excited with the squad we are building and delighted Hereford FC now have a Women’s team to wear this great badge!”

Ben added: “I’m really looking forward to the new season and the new adventure with this team. I feel this is a great opportunity to help develop women’s football in the county and to bring further success to Hereford FC.

“Scott and I are very passionate and determined to progress this team, it has been a busy summer putting plans in place and now we must push on on the pitch as we strive to have the best season possible.”

Training for the new Women’s team begins next Tuesday with the Midwest Counties League programme beginning in September.
