Hereford FC have this evening confirmed that Rob Purdie has been awarded a testimonial game following close to 16 years loyal service at Edgar Street, for both Hereford United and Hereford FC.

Purdie made over 500 appearances for Hereford FC & Hereford United.

Plans for the testimonial are in the early stages, but Purdie is hopeful of being able to reveal an all-star Bulls cast.

“If the plans come off, then the game will hopefully give former players from both Hereford United and Hereford FC the chance to return to Edgar Street one more time, it will also give fans the opportunity to see their heroes from the past pull on the famous shirt once more.”

Purdie says that he is grateful for the opportunity to step out onto the Edgar Street pitch one last time. “I really enjoyed my time at Edgar Street, although there were a few lows, there were also some incredible highs, and I realise just how lucky I was to have played in front of such a good set of fans. I am extremely thankful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play one more game.

“It will give past players and I the chance to say a proper farewell to the fans, and thank them all for their support throughout the years.”

It is hoped that the details for the testimonial game will be confirmed early in 2019.
